A woman I work with is sponsoring this shoe drive here at work. I thought I would post this if anyone was interested in donating shoes to this cause:

As some of you may know - I was born in the Dominican Republic, a country known for its beautiful beaches, fine cigars and its baseball players. The Dominican Republic is also a place where thousands of school age children walk miles every day to attend school . Many of these children make the trip barefoot.
A nonprofit organization called “ Organizacion Por Educacion Calzada” (Shoes for Education) is having a shoe drive May 15-August 18, 2008 in the NYC area. There will be a box with a sign “shoe donation” in the warehouse through the end of June. If anyone would like to donate used shoes for these children please FM me.

If you would like more information you can ask me or visit their website at: http://www.educacioncalzada.blogspot.com/ (Spanish only).
