Sex life
So since I've started my IVF cycle I have had no desire for sex. I don't have a sex life anymore. And I know its all me. DH asks all the time and I just haven't wanted to. Is this normal or am I just a werido for not wanting it? I just feel like IVF kinda took away the fun of "making a baby" with my DH. I have two friends one going through IUI and the other IVF and they too feel this way. Anyone feel like this? I've been so moody and tired since I stared and omg holy hot flashes. I'm hoping what I'm feeling is normal!!

I'm sure the hormones and emotional strain have lots to do with that!
To be honest, we don't have sex "a lot" by any means - but enough to keep us both happy. We've never been the type to have sex 3-4 times/week.
While TTC before... maybe during O time we'd go kind of crazy - but then we'd be so exhausted we wouldn't even look at each other for a while after!
I feel like now that we're doing IUI, we've finally gotten back to what's normal for us - which is once a week. I know that's not a lot, but it's not like either of us are wanting more and not getting it if that makes sense.
In some way I feel like doing IUI takes the pressure off of baby-making sex and allows us to just have regular spontaneous non-baby-making-related sex whenever we feel like it.
You're not alone though! This whole process is so stressful and draining!

I haven't started the IVF road, but it may be the drugs you are taking as well. They are all meant to control your hormones and may be suppressing your sex drive.

omg I'm sorry that made me laugh so hardm that's something my DH would say
It is a strain with all this going on I can't focuse on sex right now. But I feel bad for DH he don't complain about it but I feel bad making him wait till I feel up to it again. Ugh this whole process always brings me for a crazy ride!!

That is funny b/c last night was the first time I had sex in 4 wks. I was horrible yesterday but today I feel great. We need to remember that it can actually feel good. And the fact that it is no longer to make a baby kinda makes it more fun.
But, with cycling and being swollen and the hormones, then the 2ww where you can't have it. Time just goes by and you just learn to do without.
But, if I can add in, I always think when I don't want to, is probably when i need to. So, I say try it tonight and see how you feel. But, I'm not cycling right now. I did realize this morning that I never need to use birth control ever again.

REALLY!? My DH and I still tend to do naughtiness around 4 times a week... if not more due to the weekends...
I think the only thing that has been bad is NO SEX since the retrieval and transfer!!! It has been HORRIBLE!!!
In regards to the HOTNESS.... I found acupuncture REALLY took the hotness out! Seriously, I was getting such hot flashes, and after 2 sessions, poof they were gone!

When I saw this topic, I had the same reaction as MrsJoeG...
Sex life? We have no sex life.
I spend so much time being bloated, swollen, sore and bruised that I rarely feel like it anymore. Geez! And I thought the Follistim was supposed to HELP me get pregnant. When I start half my days with an internal sono, I just don't feel like letting anyone else in there. KWIM?
Last month, after joking with my RE, he actually wrote the word SEX on his prescription pad, signed it and handed it to DH. He winked at me and said to DH, "Here you go. She has to do everything I say. I only wish this worked on my wife."

thanks everyone for sharing with me that im not alone! i feel like all these injections and meds and stress takes sex away lol i hope it comes back soon haha i kinda miss it i just cant get myself to do it tho
