Hey Jess!
First off...great kitchen!!!
Second....I think a little color...even if they wanted to stay neutral and do a light tan or taupe, soft suede...to provide contrast.
I feel it may be a little "washed out" if you will, with too much beige.
don't get me wrong, its beautiful, but some color would really help it out.

What are the colors of the adjacent rooms? They need to be taken into consideration so they don't clash.
