Serious... how do you know if....
guys, i was feeling under my arm and i feel something BUT it actually is tender and welll... i was told that if you were to have a lump or somthing, that it wouldnt hurt or anything.
So... how do you know if its "that" or just swelling bc of shaving? Ps- i do have my period right now so...does that change anything?
I try to feel around and do self exams often and i wanna make sure this isnt anything to worry about.
like i said, its tender to the touch so im thinking its not "that"

yeah thats totally what im thinking too bc like i said, its tender and hurts alittle when i rub it too hard.
Just wanted to double check b/c... well you never know.
I have a GYN appt in a few wks so i will make sure to tell him.

Sounds like a swollen gland, but I'd get it checked out. I get the same thing under my arm sometimes, and when I've had it checked the Dr. told me that in general, when it hurts, it's not anything to be worried about, but that it still always needs to be checked.

yeah now that you and the other poster mentioned it, i remb my dr saying that i am overly "cystic-y" when i have my period.
And he too said, if it hurts, its not "that"

I got so nervous in the shower one day cause I was shaving and I felt this lump in my arm pit, and I freaked out (thinking the worst) but it turned out to be a big zit! I never had one there before, so strange!

Yes, but it didn't feel like a lump it was red so I knew it was a zit, see around my period time I get like 1 or 2 zits on my body except my face--lol I guess its a good thing!

If you feel it is something more than a zit or a monthly thing, have it checked. It is always better to be cautious.
Though I have to say I once convinced myself I had a lump under my arm 'til I realized that one of the underwires in my bra popped out and was stabbing me. I felt like a dope!

That can happen (a swollen lymph node) if you're getting sick, or if you're body is silently fighting a little virus or something. It happens to me once in a while, but as a precautionary measure, you should see the doc

You are actuallly not supposed to examine your breasts when you have your period because sometimes that causes some lumpiness or something in the boobs.
Wait until after you are done-- like a few days and then see how it feels.
If you are still concerned-- check it out with a doc.
