Scott Baio Is 45 ... and About to Have a Daughter

When Scott Baio found out that he and his fiancée, actress and former Playmate Renee Sloane, were going to become parents, he hoped that it would be a boy.

"All my life I had wanted a son," said Baio, who is busy building a nursery and filming the second season of his VH1 reality show Scott Baio is 45... and Single. "Of course we are getting a girl. It wasn't disappointing, but it was just something to adjust to because I had been 100 percent sure we were having a boy."

The once-notorious Hollywood ladies man also tells PEOPLE: "It's just like that great Rolling Stones song, you don't get what you want, you get what you need. I needed to have a girl. It may be cosmic payback a little bit, but it needed to happen."

For her part, Sloane, who also has an 18-year-old daughter, has no fear that Baio might return to his old ways, which in the past has led to couplings with a number of actresses including Heather Locklear and Denise Richards.

"I am 100 percent not worried about him," says Sloane, who is due in early December. "I would rather be with a guy who has sowed all of his wild oats with a lot of people and know that he is ready. He has been there and done that, and this man is ready for a different chapter in a whole entirely different book."

According to Baio though, having a girl does present one problem.

"We just went to get the 4-D imaging this week, and I saw her for the first time," says Baio. "She is a girl and she has my head! I got ****** off about it because I have seen myself in drag for television and I am an ugly women. Why couldn't she have my wife's head? She's beautiful!"

Jokes Baio, "As soon as she comes out I am sending her to plastic surgery!"
