you can also look atsachemunspun , but it's for the 04/05 school year. you would have to multiply salary *.035*.035*.035*.035*.035 (3.5% raise for each year)

I'm pretty sure they did not get 3.5% raises every year since then. I think there was at least one year they got no increase at all.

your question is tough to answer because what is the average teacher? a teacher with under 5 years experience? a teacher with a Masters? a teacher with post- Masters credits? a teacher with several years in the system? also, where a teacher teaches make a big difference. the city is still behind LI schools, but they've gotten better. LI and westchester schools make a lot more than teachers upstate.

the see through ny website was dead on- FOR ME! it's weird how this info. is online. just checked it. it was my salary for the 2007-2008 school year. it is now much higher because i now have more time in, we got a new contract and i have a lot more credits post Masters. So many things factor in to a salary. Also, they list every employee on this site from clerical, to custodial, to TAs (who make a lot less than teachers) to teachers. you also don't see how many years in people have, etc.

I checked the seethroughny website to see my district. It's weird...they only have TAs, custodial staff and office workers listed. No teachers, principals or higher administrators are on the list. I wonder why? Chat Icon

this lists most school districts on LI...I just used 3.5% as a general increase across all SDs - sometimes it's less, but sometimes it's more too.

really? I did it and found lots of people. you have to go to the NY City part, not the part that says schools. all the city agencies come up... DOE, FDNY, NYPD, Sanitation, etc.
