saw something rather odd happen today...
So i was pulling out of my complex and there was a sherrifs car behind a box truck. He was standing next to both and men were emptying what looked like contents of an apartment onto the side of furrows rd. When i came back about 20mins later, the truck and cop were gone. All of tje stuff was left on the side of the road. About an hour later when i went back out, ppl were rummaging through the stuff. Half was gone, bags and boxes ripped open.
I feel bad for whoevers stuff it was. Why would a cop have them just leave stuff like that? Any ideas?

Out of a box truck? They were on the side of the road, not in front of an apt or house.

Im just confused. They were taking stuff out of a truck, they were not in front of any house or apt. Why would they have to empty their stuff out of a truck?

Eviction. They pack it and move it to the front of complex for trash.

They probably evicted someone from the complex but because it is a complex they have to dump the contents on the nearest road versus the curb in front of the house like most evictions. Therefore, requiring the truck.

This breaks my heart though. Times are tough, i can only imagine my "life" being rummaged through.

Definitely sounds like an eviction :( that's so horrible. I saw that once right on a main rd. The family must have lived in an apt. complex so all their belongings were right on the sidewalk in front of a shopping center. They were an older couple & sat with their stuff. I was going to go back and see if I cold help in some way but they were gone when I drove back past. I guess they got a truck or something.
I have never seen ppl taking the belongings thou, that's crazy. Usually the owners are with the stuff until they figure something out & I've even seen police/town barricades to help keep the stuff safe.
The thought of them coming home to find all their stuff stolen is really sad.

saw something rather odd happen today...
A lot of people have been evicted from my complex the past few months. Their belongings are left on Ronkonkoma Ave. While it is sad to see this happen to someone, they know it is coming (they know they are not paying their rent). The apt I live in now, the previous couple was evicted. They knew the day the sheriff was coming and the day before emptied out their belongings. Others wait for the sheriff to come. What's worse is when their belongings sit on Ronkonkoma Ave for 2 days and then are tossed. One couple recently evicted, they took their guns and left the kids beds, toys and clothes for the trash.
side note - No I wouldn't want the guns left on Ronkonkoma Ave.The sheriff had them in his car all day and when they were done, gave them back to the occupants. And it was not just one gun. It was the entire trunk and back seat of the sheriff's car.
