This was in my local paper last week and I wanted to share.

Nassau County Parks Department Prepares Santa's Mailboxes for Holidays

Nassau County children will again be able to send their holiday lists directly to Old St. Nick at the North Pole via a special network of Santa’s mailboxes at Nassau County parks, announced Nassau County Executive Thomas R. Suozzi. The mailboxes will accept letters from Monday, November 24, through Wednesday, December 17.

Letters to Santa will receive a reply in the form of a “Santa-Gram” from the North Pole, with Santa’s elves at the Parks Department helping to write cheery but non-committal letters in response to children’s letters. To assure a reply, each letter must contain the child’s name and address, written legibly, but no postage is required. Santa-Grams will be sent before the holiday.

Colorful red and green mailboxes will be accessible from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily at the administration buildings of the following parks: Cantiague Park in Hicksville; Christopher Morley Park in Roslyn-North Hills; Grant Park in Hewlett; Rev. Arthur Mackey, Sr. Park in Roosevelt; and Wantagh Park in Wantagh. In Eisenhower Park, the mailboxes are available at the Special Activities Building by Parking Field No. 8; the Nassau County Aquatic Center by Parking Field No. 1A (off Merrick Avenue); and at the Parks Department Administration Building (Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 4:45 p.m.) just inside the park off the Hempstead Turnpike entrance.
