Roller Derby Bout Nov 17th in St. James
I know some of you were interested in coming to the Strong Island Roller Derby Bout in St. James on November 17th. I wanted to post some new information as we will be giving a portion of the ticket proceeds to the Hurricane relief efforts.
Update: In the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy, SIDR will be raising money and collecting much needed supplies for Long Island Cares, to benefit those impacted by the storm, at our Season Finale bout against Shoreline.
Items needed are:
Water/bottled drinks
personal care items
household cleaning supplies
pet food
non perishable food
NEW hats, blankets, gloves, scarves, and packaged socks
Collection bin is at Sports Arena in St. James now and will be in place until the end of the bout on the 17th. Tickets are $10 in advance and $15 at the door.

Thanks for sharing the info, my friends and I sometimes go to safe skates to take in a bout, I'll try to get a group to go to this and we'll bring donations!

Yes, it is so much fun! It would be so awesome if you came! We have an open recuritment coming up in January if you guys are interested in joining our league. There are no tryouts and we will hold a bootcamp style skate session to see if you would be interested in joining. We also have gear and skates for you to use during this event. Check out our website for more info on our league. They should be updating it more info on the Jan event soon.

Dude, I bow to your balls...I don't have it in me to try out but I do have a friend who is on the fence, I will let her know! She's even come up with a name for herself!
