Riverview Restaurant in Oakdale
Has anyone been there for dinner or a function? My mom is thinking about having a small group of people between 20-30 for her 50th birthday there. Rants/Raves?

I've never been there myself, but they get great reviews from everyone I know who has been there.
ETA: I never heard one negative thing about them.

The only reason why she is set on The Riverview is because one of her friends works there and will take good care of us.

I had my rehearsal dinner there. It was really good. We also looked into the Snapper Inn, but i felt the inside looked a little run down.

I also agree about the Snapper Inn - but the Riverview isn't bad.

The Riverview is a beautiful restaurant, but the food wasn't very good imho. I've been there for 2 functions and both times didn't care for it. Great deck & view though.

We had a work party there...during the Sunday brunch. It was nice. I like that it is right on the water too.

The location is beautiful...I've never been impressed with the food though.
We had my friends bridal shower there and it was horrible.
It was a brunch and they sat us in a room behind the bar where the sun baked on us all day. They were understaffed that day and we couldn't even get a drink. As far as the brunch was concerned I really wasn't impressed.
I believe a sit-down dinner there is better, but I didn't think it was the greatest. I like Snapper Inn better also.

Someone told us to go the the Riverview, because he was telling us how great it was. It was the worst food I have ever eaten. The croutons in my salad had mold on them. I rather have eaten at McDonalds. I am a quiet person and so is my DH, so we never complain, even if we are unhappy. It was so bad, that I was really ready to get up and say something. Plus, DH and I got in a fight, because we where so ****** off. It wasn't cheap either.

Same here. My uncles 60th Brunch was there and it was ok. The place smells like mildew to me.......
