ETA: We have a 3 year old, 11 month old and 3 month old, so it really has to be family-friendly.

I think that on the other side of port washington ave from the americana there is a ground round.

there is a TGI Fridays on northern blvd, just at the intersection of shelter rock rd and northern blvd. or an ihop before it

There is indeed. It is on the same side as the americana, but on the east side of Port Wash Ave/ Searingtown Rd

There is an inexpensive italian place on Middleneck btwn Grace and Maple it is awesome and lotsa kids ( not Gino's there is a real restaurant) I believe it is Classico's
Pancho's is on Grace
La Rotonda another Italian spot on Bond
Daruma of Tokyo on Middleneck and Maple (yummmmmmmmmy sushi and asian food)
Great Neck Plaza is all food...and some shopping.

Accross from Ground Round is the Landmark if you are in the mood for diner.
ETA: down in Port Wash is Cheeburger Cheeburger (yummmmmmmmmmy caramel apple shake)

JoAnnes gourmet pizza. theres a small one across from the ground round and a HUGE restaurant right next to the viaduct.
