Registry Stuff...

Did any of you put a ton of registry items on and actually get most/all of what you wanted? If you did get most/all of the things you wanted, was it because you had a huge shower?

My mom just asked me for my address list and I gave her a list with 70 people on it. I'm sure only like 40-50 will come so who knows. She thihks that I should have more items on because I'm inviting a lot of people. Not sure if there's any validity behind that...

I'm doing my registry and not sure exactly how much to put on, and I'm curious to see if you think it's a waste to put too much on.

Thanks!!!

Re: Registry Stuff...

I'm having a small shower... probably 13 people or so....

But I can tell you what I would do in your scenario.... I'd initially keep the registry as is... to ensure you get the things you really need....

As it dwindles I'd THEN add more stuff to refill the selection...... sure it requires registry peeking, but who doesn't peek anyway

Re: Registry Stuff...

I just had my shower and I can say that people buy a lot of what they want. We got most of the big items, car seats, high chair those type of things and then people just bought tons of clothes, blankets, bath stuff. Not really particular things that we registered for, just things in general. We had about 60 people at my shower and we got a ton of stuff!

Re: Registry Stuff...

I had a small shower about 25-30 people and we got pretty much everything on our registry. We had over 120 items.

I didn't have a shower at all and I got just about everything off my registry plus some! I agree with your mom, put a lot of stuff on there! You can always return if you don't love it Chat Icon

Re: Registry Stuff...

I hear you're supposed to have 2 to 3 items per guest. I know its excessive but I would do it anyway that way people have a lot to choose from. I think what happens a lot of times is people buy things and then theres nothing left and the people who go last minute just buy whatever they want cause theres nothing left in the registry.
A registry is basically a "wishlist" so I would go crazy!!!! lolol
My guest list is up to 55 people now but I don't have enough items yet. Once I find out the gender I will fullfill the "quota"

My registry was pretty large and so was my shower. I had about 70+ people there. I did get almost everything.

Re: Registry Stuff...

I wouldn't just throw more stuff on there just cause you have more people. I had about 50 people at my shower and got almost all of what I really needed. There were some little things we didn't get but either I bought them later with GC's or I ended up not needing them. Lots of people won't buy you things off your registry too. Just put whatever you want/need on your registry! It's so much fun :)

Re: Registry Stuff...

I had about 105 items on the registry and not many of them were small (under $10-15). I didn't have clothes, diapers, etc. on there either. My shower had over 40 people (then I had a work shower where only a few people bought off the registry) and I got basically everything on there.
