Red Light Cameras and fighting a ticket...?
I got a ticket in the mail today for going through a red light...I actually remember doing it because I know the camera is there and I saw it flash but I was making a right, and its legal to turn on red there...
Are they going to make me go to court to fight this? I mean its so ridiculous that they even sent me the ticket, you think they'd know you can turn on red there...I bet most people just pay the $50 without even fighting it...
Also should I enclose a letter or something noting that you can turn on red there? There is only a line to sign to plead guilty or not guilty...

Even if it is turn on red you have to make a complete stop or it is a ticket..

i heard to not fight the ticket.
i heard not to file not guilty because then they will know who was in the car and can put points on your license. by just sending in the money they don't know exactly was driving the car at the time of going through the red light.

Seriously???????? The light was turning and i was already stopped and looking to the left for traffic, by the time I went it had turned red....I really don't wanna pay the $50 because i'm not wrong!!!!

You can fight it but I don't know if you'll win. I believe that right on red tickets are issued by actual people, not cameras - meaning that a live person decided that you didn't stop enough before making the right turn.

ITA. Just pay the $50. Chances are you wont win and you'll end up with points on your license.

It should have the speed that you were travelling...if so then you will not win. I know because my DH got a ticket making a right on red and it showed the time and the speed he was travelling.
I now come to a complete stop and wait before I make a right on red. They are going to put more of these cameras up...

LOL 2 things--
FIrst I just fixed my original post...I forgive how jumbled that was, I got a netbook and the keyboard is small so I keep having typo issues!
Also, I just watched the video online..and yeahh I guess I'm gonna pay the $50!

OMG are you me???? I just got this this weekend too...by Roosevelt Field, making a right on red into a parking lot by Toys R Us. I was so livid, b/c who has the time to go fight this????
But then I logged on to the website www.drivesafelyinassau.com, and entered my pin and #. And lo and behold, there is a video!!!! I can see myself....and WHOOPS....
I did not make a full stop at the red light before turning on the red. So even though it was allowed, you have to make a full stop before turning otherwise you will be responsible for the ticket. So I am guilty...I just sent my payment today....I bet that is what happened to you too. Go check out your video to see what you did. I actually am very guilty based on the video.
