Recommendations for a new washer/dryer

The ones left in the house we are buying are ancient so we need to replace them asap. I'm going to start looking this week since we close on wednesday......so I need some recommendations......I don't want to spend a ton of money and I don't need them to have a tone of features.......something reasonably priced that will last.

Re: Recommendations for a new washer/dryer

well.. we just got the whirlpool cabrio HE washer and dryer. they were a little more expensive but TOTALLY worth it.. seriously. they don't have the center agitator thing, so they can fit SOOO much more stuff- its unbelievable! i can wash a set of sheets, our qeen sized bed quilt, AND 2 thick towels all in one load! i can also wash a weeks worth of both mine and DHs clothes all in one load. so we went from doing 4 loads of laundry a week, to 2. the time savings alone was worth it. its probably even more worth it when you have kids ( which we don't yet)
plus, i like the fact that they use about half the water and electricity. ( dryer takes less time to dry because the clothes get spun so well in the washer). we got a good deal on them from AJ Madison.com with free delivery.

We just bought a new washer. Our budget was limited, but we wanted something big enough to get all our clothes in as few loads as possible. We had a front loader, we wanted a new front loader. We ended up with a Kenmore Elite He3T. So far, so good. It's the biggest size they make (4.0 cu ft) and it works well for not a ton of money.
