recommend an allergist please - does this sound like allergies??

Okay, I am a teacher and last year I was sick from October through February. My doctor tried 5 types of antibiotics and nothing worked to calm my cough down. They sent me for a chest xray, thought I had pneumonia. Nothing worked. It was just a nasty nasty cough. I felt fine otherwise but couldn't shake it. Finally a steroid combined with zithromax got rid of it in February...I thought it was just a nasty bug the kids had....

It's October and guess what, I'm coughing again! It's the SAME hacking sound (they thought whooping cough).... my DH calls it a dog bark noise.... it's uncomfortable, and in a job where I am talking all day, it paralyzes me and i can't finish sentences.... then there are stretches where I am fine.... I tried Claratin and that alleviates it 60% of the time.... I don't cough nearly as much when I'm at home and I don't cough at all on the weekends... as soon as Monday comes and I'm in my classroom, I'm coughing.... which leads me to the allergy theory....does this sound like an allergy to you?

Can you recommend your allergist please? I'm in Mineola but teach in Nassau (Seaford area)....

My son goes to Steven Weiss in Syosset. He cares for both kids and adults.

Have you tried seeing a pulmonologist?
