Rec for refinishing hardwood floors & quest about dark stain.
I am trying to decide if I want dark stain or not. Do areas of the wood that have heavy traffic, get worn out quickly?
Who did you use for refinishing?

I used goldstar and they did an ok job. A few minor things I realize after the fact but the floors look good. I had a bigger project in my living room and had someone else do them.
We did natural stain because I have dark furniture. I love the look. The darker stain is more trendy now but I was concerned it would show dust and be too dark with all dark furnishings and drapes. I love the look and contrast.
You can always stain darker later but harder to go lighter. If your floors are damaged at all from pet stains, the darker stain would hide it better. We have a few from previous owner but it doesn't bother me that much, floors are 97 percent perfect.
I don't think the stain has anything to do with the floors getting worn out. I'm pretty sure you can have them resealed to prevent damage and having them need to be redone completely but not sure. Everything wears over time.

Don't go with a dark stain, we did and it shows dust 5 minutes after it's been dusted and washed. We did then ourselves. We plan on redoing in the near future because of the dark stain.

Thanks ladies. I have always loved dark but I am not one to sweep several times a day to get rid of dust. My mom has very light wood floors & I love that look too. Very beachy & warm.

Stay away from dark. I loved mine for 5 minures. They show everything and are a ***** to keep clean if you have pets and kids.

I like our provincial stain it's neutral not peachy and goes with our dark furniture
