Reading groups for 2nd grade

I will be doing reading groups this year. I will probably have about 4 groups. For those of you that have done them here are a few questions you can help me with:

1. How many days a week do you do them?
2. Do you do just skills and/or the story of the week
3. What are the other children doing when you are with a group

I did two groups a day M-F. The rest of the class did the Daily5. There are five activities every week. They pick two a day. The five activities are read to self, read to someone, listening to a book, word work or writing. I would do comprehension skills, sight words with my lower groups. I'd do a lot of comprehension stuff like retelling, inferencing, predictions, beginning middle and end and summary writing. I'd also do nonfiction books. I'd do plays and work on expression. Each group would last about 20 minutes.
