RE Recommendation-Nassau County
Does anyone know of a good RE that takes insurance. My insurance company will cover $50,000 for both me and my husband. But I'm not sure if any RE's take insurance. Please help! TIA!

Thank you girls so much!!! I was shocked when I called our insurance company and they told us they will cover that much. I have Empire goverment through my husband's job and I also have Aetna through my job, but I didn't call them yet. Thanks again!!! I know I can always count on you girls to give me good advice and doctors.

I also have empire govt. (united health care). i just started seeing Dr. Brenner. I really like him so far and my friend also had a good experience with him. she got preg after her first iui. he has offices in lake success (new hyde park), melville and port jeff. the staff is also very nice.

If you call Empire/United they will tell you exactly who takes it and who the Centers For Excellence are at no cost to you...
I know of
LI-IVF - Dr. Brenner, Dr. Kenigsberg and Dr. Droesch (Lake Success, Melville)
NSUH - not sure of the drs names, except Dr. Chu (Manhasset)
RMA - Dr. Flisser (Garden City)
Then in the city there is
Cornell and NYU

I have Empire as well...They should be sending you a welcome packet with the list of Centers of Excellence. As long as you use a C of E, you will have to pay nothing out of pocket, except for lab copayments. You can also switch from one center to another if you are not happy. Also be sure to call Empire for Prior Authorization once you have an Infertility Diagnosis. Good Luck!

I just got off the phone with Empire and they said they they cover everyting but donor services for Infertility. Does anyone know how much donor service are?

No, I'm sorry. I need a sperm donor. My husband has Azoospermia and he just had a Testicular Biospy done and they said he could never have a biological child. We're devestated!

I use Dr. Rosenfeld as my RE at NSUH and he is wonderful, but I have seen Drs Chu and Cohen and was very comfortable with those doctors as well. I believe all of the doctors in that practice, specialize in certain areas of IF. I have not met Drs. Herschlag and Scholl, but I hear they are great too.

Not sure about sperm donors, did you do any research on internet? I would imagine it would be up there in terms of cost, as is everything IF.

A single friend of mine had an IUI when she had been on Clomid with donor sperm. She told me the only thing she had to pay for was the sperm and mentioned it wasn't quite as costly as you would think. I'll ask her when I see her next week.
