?? re: Luteal Phase Defect

I have a friend who had a healthy pregnancy and child born... she recently had a miscarriage at @ 6 weeks and had been temping and noticed her luteal phase seemed short.

Is it possible that you can have a "normal" luteal phase (as when she got pregnant the first time) and then later in life, or after a pregnancy or other changes, you can develop a luteal phase defect?

TIA for any insight!

absolutely, it happened to me. I got pregnant no problem with my dd, now when we were ttc #2, I noted that my LP was only 7-8 days....way too short to accomodate a pregnancy. I went to my OB who prescribed clomid and I got pregnant the first month Chat Icon
