RE: Baby Showers

I was talking to a woman at my job and she said that down here in NC you're suppose to have a Baby Shower with every baby that you have not just with the first. She said the 2nd one is the same as the first one with all your family and friends.

Too bad all my family and friends are up in NY and they don't believe in a 2nd baby shower. I can't even hope for one down here because I don't have any friends or family here only my parents!

I don't even have any family or friends in NY that could throw me one considering my sister lives in FLA and none of my friends have money to throw me one.

I told her about a "Baby Sprinkle", she thought it was cute but she has never heard of one before.

I'm not trying to have one just to get things, but it would certainly help a lot, considering there's a lot more stuff that we need than I thought, but since my first one S@CKED royally I just thought it would be nice to celebrate our new miracle with or without gifts!

I kind of know how you feel. My family lives far away, this will be our first and I would like a shower. My in-laws are local, so they will probably do something, but it's not quite the same as having my mom, cousins, etc. involved.

The first baby shower I had not one of my relatives were there. It was all my IL's family and friends. Not that I don't consider them family, but they're not "my" family. It didn't even feel like my shower and we drove 9.5 hours to be there.

I'm also not close enough to "my" family to hope that someone up in NY would throw me one, you know!

Oh well... I guess there's nothing we can do! Hopefully someone will come through for you!

I think that if you are having a different sex baby then your first then you should have a baby shower cause you need different things also if theres a big gap between your kids cause then odds are you dont have any of your old stuff from the first child I made it clear to my family that since I have a boy I dont need anything for another boy but if I am having a girl then I need a lot so forget the one baby shower rule i want another lol.


Considering that my first baby shower was the day I met all my in laws so it was a stressful and scary baby shower I was pale as a ghost for most of it lol. so I really didnt get to enjoy it I think now it would be different.
