Rainforest Cradle Swing help - UPDATED
so we received this swing as a baby shower gift... and after few days of use, the mobile and music stopped working!!! I am so disappointed, our DS loves the swing (at least that part is still working)... did anyone else have this problem? what can I do if I dont have a receipt or an original box? thanks 
UPDATE: so I called babies r us and they had us come in and exchanged the swing without a problem... I am just hoping this one will work better

The batteries are probably crapping out. I have the aquarium swing and all of the reviews on BRU say the batteries would go very quickly, so maybe it is the same thing with the Rainforest swing?

We had the same problem with that swing and returned it (after DH cursing taking it apart) and got the Papasan and had no problems with that!

If switching th batteries doesn't work, I would call the manufacturer and explain that it was a gift and you have since thrown out the box. I did that with one of my monitors and they sent me a new one, free of charge (and it was $100 ).

it is not the batteries since it plugs into a standard electrical outlet... maybe I will call Fisher Price tomorrow...

If you do a quick search on Amazon, a lot of the reviews state the same problems. I read them after I purchased the swing but returned it still.

Papasan now makes a plug in swing also. My parents got it for their house. It has light up stars on it too

wow there are really a lot of problems with this swing, I had no idea!
I had no idea there were any problems with this swing either - and it's sitting here just waiting for a baby to sit in it. 
Let me know what FP says about this in case I have the same problem in a few weeks.

I had the same problem. 1st try to take back to BRU and they should exchange for another on (ask for the MGR) or call Fisher Price customer service. They are really, really helpful. Good Luck!

It depends on the MGR who is working there. My friend was able to exchange hers without the box for a new one. If they give you a hard time call Fisher Price and complain to them. See what they can do...
