Quick question for people that have a cleaning lady
My cleaning lady is here now - they come every 2 weeks. They are supposed to come next on the Friday after Thanksgiving but we will be out of town so they will not be coming - do I have to pay them for that day anyway?

Mine also comes every other week. Recently we were away the week she was coming, but I still had her come.
If I had told her not to come, I would have paid. I feel as if I'd be taking that regularly paid day away from her. Can you ask her to come a different day during that week?

I have a cleaning lady every Friday and my standard rule is ...
If I cancel you, I pay you
If you cancel me, I do not pay you.
If it falls on a holiday, you do not get paid (but you get a bonus at the end of the year which should more than make up any days missed because of a holiday).
So far this year I think the only holiday that fell on a Friday was July 4th. She missed another day because her daughter had surgery. Halloween I paid her in full but only made her clean lightly and go home early to Trick or Treat.

No, just tell them you won't be around and to skip that week or come another day.

I would tell her to come another day that week or I would pay for the day.. cleaning ladies are usually counting for every pay day

Mine comes on thursday which is thanksgiving i will give her a call and see if she can come any other day.
If for some reason she cant i dont think we would pay her for the day.
She charges us $100 to clean the house.
But i am positive she has already arranged her schedule to accommodate her thurs clients
