Quick fashion ?-shoes/legwear for this dress
function w/Dh's Fordham colleagues. It's a dinner, but a "gown" isn't appropriate. I ordered this. I want to wear my black pointy toe leather pumps. BUT, bare legs? Dress is below the knee. I hate stockings. If the dress were black I'd wear black or fishnet black but with this should I go nude or bare skin? Thanks! Image Attachment(s):

I would skip the fishnet since it is a work event for your husband. But the black shoes sound really great!

oh no, I wouldn't go fishnet w/this color....but if a dress is long enough, I think fishnet is tasteful. I just can't decide if i should wear nude stockings or bare skin.

I was reading something that if the environment is cas or fashion, bare skin is the way to go; if it's corporate, stockings (even though I hate em) is best, so I'm unsure!

Truthfully, as much as I hate wearing stockings, I would wear stocking in this case. I tend to err on the conservative side for anything work-related (especially since it is the winter).

I personally think bare legs are fine - I really don't like stockings either. I might be more on the fence if the dress was above the knee, but since it's not, I think you're fine without them.

Above the knee and bare is a no no to me...unless it's 90 degrees, you're strolling around town and wearing a skirt and flippies!

I would wear stockings b/c of the weather. If it were summer then I wouldnt wear stockings.

I feel the same way! But, beautiful classic dress. ETA: Personally, I would do nude stockings. My legs look all mottled if they're not tan.

I saw this on J. Crew and was tempted to buy it.
How about the really tiny fishnets? I think they could look nice with the dress if you wanted to wear stockings....
It might be warm enough on 4/13 to go without the stockings.
