Questions about starting cereal
Should I change the nipple now that I am putting cereal in his bottles? Go up to a size 2?
Also - do I put the cereal in right before I am going to feed him or do I prepare the bottles with the cereal in it - and keep them in the fridge like that?
ETA: Also, will he be fussy in the beginning when he is getting used to it? Or will it be a natural transition? I just want to know what I'm in for.

Re: Questions about starting cereal
I don't know about the bottle prep question, but as far as the nipple size goes, stick with the one and see how he does. If you find he's struggling, then you can up the nipple size.

We started cereal in the bottle early on for reflux. You need to use a Y nipple. HTH!
ETA: I prepared the bottles w/ the rice in it to make life easier.

OOH really? Ok - Well he just started his first bottle with it now - with a Level 1 nipple - should I change it mid feeding or just wait till the next one?

Sorry this is late in getting to you but... as I'm sure you've found out, he won't be able to get the rice through the level one. Y nipples are designed for thickened liquids so although it'll be messy (in terms of the leakage), that's your best bet.

He actually got it through with no problem. Maybe I'll see how it goes with this for the next few feedings and then switch if i have to.
Thanks again!
