Question ladies...

We haven't decided if we are going to TTC#2 this summer or not yet, but I was wondering about something if you don't mind me asking?

Are any of you on the heavier side from your first PG but still went ahead and TTC and got PG with #2?

I gained 65lbs when I was PG with my son. I was in great shape and really skinny before I got PG with him. Now it's almost 17 months later and I haven't been able to lose any weight from being PG with my son. I've been working out for almost 9 months and haven't lost anything, not a lb! I've actually gained some weight. My problem is that I REALLY wanted to lose weight before we were going to TTC#2, but it doesn't look like that's going to happen anytime soon. If we are able to TTC this summer, I don't want to wait until I lose weight. That could take forever since I have yet to lose any now. I HATE the way I look now. I feel like a fat cow. I was really hoping to lose 20-30lbs before having another one and gaining even more weight. I'm not used to being heavy. Since I had my son my whole body chemistry has changed drastically. My skin included. I have a feeling I may be this way for the rest of my life. I just don't know what to do? I really want to have another baby as soon as we can. I really wish I have been losing weight these past 9 months. That was original plan. I never knew it was going to be this hard. It was so easy to lose weight the first time around. I lost 50lbs. in 3 years, and looked great. I don't know why it's so hard now. I've had blood work done, and everything is fine, except that my Cholesterol is high. I just don't know! Thanks for listening!

Re: Question ladies...

Sometimes that happens after you have babies. I know for me it's true too. I desperately need to lose weight and just can't seem to. My cousin had 4 kids very close together and never had time to lose the wight between each one and after her 4th she decided to go to Weight Watchers and now she looks fantastic. I wouldn't let the weight stop you from TTC over the summer. The weight will come off at some point, especially after you have 2 little ones to run after!!!

Good Luck!Chat Icon

Re: Question ladies...

Hi I know exactly how you are feeling I am thinking of ttc in august and my son now is 16 months and I also havent lost any of the weight, i have also gained since his birth. I want so badly to ttc in the summer because i want to get my life back on track, right now im a sahm and I figure as soon as I have them both in school then i can work on my career. I desperatly want to become a police officer and there is an age limit on that so I have no other choice then to ttc this summer but i as well wanted to lose weight before hand and nothing seems to help. before i had my son I lost weight so easily with just working out the case is not the same now. I also feel like a fat cow lol. especially since my aunt had her son and was in a bikini 2 weeks after i wont even get in a bikini now lol. I have also went for those blood tests and the only thing wrong with me is my cholesterol as well which i have never had before but then again i have never weighed this much lol. well i am glad i can relate to someone i thought i was the only one nuts enough to want to ttc when i havent lost my weight yet.

Re: Question ladies...

well ladies as a "plus size" mom to be i can say that there are some risks to ttc when you are heavier. they say your risk for Gestational diabetes is higher your risk for pre eclampasia is higher but if you are in good health i see no reason why you should have to wait. I was in the process of losing weight when i got pg this time. i do have gestational diabetes but i had it with my other pg's too and i was much thinner then. I have actually only gained 10 lbs so far in this pg. ( i am 30 wks tomorrow)

Re: Question ladies...

Wow... you've only gained 10lbs! Chat Icon That's great! My son weighed more than that when he was born. He was 10lb 12oz and 5 days early. I lost 30lbs just from giving birth but that other 35lbs, doesn't want to leave and now it's plus 12lbs on top of that. So right now I'm 40lbs more than I was when I first got PG. I went from a size 7/8 now to a size 14. Chat Icon I really miss being skinny. I can accept gaining weight from being PG, I just expected to lose it by now I guess.

Oh... I didn't have GD when I was PG, but who knows if it'll happen the next time around.

Thanks for your opinions!

Re: Question ladies...

I know how you feel I gained 43 pounds and I was a size 7/8 before I got prego after I gave birth I was a size 16 and now I am between a size 12 to a size 14 I can't seem to loose weight and its frusterating. I am scared that if I don't loose this weight I am gonna have a hard time when I am ready to have my 2nd child.
