Question for those that have ceramic tile in their kitchen and wood floor in the surrounding rooms.....
What separates your kitchen tile from the wood.....a marble saddle or a wooden one.....our house had a marble one but it broke when we ripped out the metal door frames and when I mentioned replacing it to our contractor he mentioned that the marble one was for bathrooms and that wood was supposed to go there....so just curious what everone else has?

We only have marble between the hallway and the bathrooms.

On one end we have a granite slab saddle (that we had extra from our countertops) and the other end is a wood saddle that DH stained to match our cabinets.

we just installed a wood saddle it was a major pita though because we have a big opening from the tile to the wood and it was hard finding a long enough saddle we had to put 2 pcs together. It looks good now.
We have marble only in our bathroom

Our kitchen and bathroom have ceramic tile and the rest of the floors are hardwood. There are marble thresholds throughtout the house (between kitchen and DR and kitchen and LR and between bathroom and hall).

Wooden saddle in the 2 doorways leading to & from the kitchen. Marble saddle in the bathroom.
