Question about veggies, cereal, etc.

Next week we start carrots!!!! Do I heat them? (It's the Gerber ready to eat pack.) How about after it's been opened and then refrigerated? Do I heat then? How do I heat it?

This week we started cereal. I was told to start carrots next week. Do I continue feeding cereal as well? Is it two foods next week?

I'm sure I'll have more questions, sorry to throw them all out there. If only my breasts dispensed carrots and squash. That would be much easier.

I think it's personal preference. But i never heated baby foods. Once they're in the fridge though, i do heat them to room temp in the microwave.

Yep, continue the cereal, either with the veggies or without it's up to you

I feed the same new food for at least 2-3 days (not at every meal) to watch for reaction

I typically heat the vegetables up for DD(like 15 seconds in the microwave) but she will also eat them at room temperature.

When we started fruits and veggies, I continued with the cereal as well. Once she was used to the fruits I mixed it with the cereal, but at first I would give them to her one at a time, so she would do her little cup of carrots and then her little cup of oatmeal, rice, etc.

I've never heated the baby food- but I know at day care, they do if you want them to- so I guess its just a matter of personal preference.

We still eat the cereal with the veggies- and each week, we add a new fruit or veggie- and then just rotate with all of the things that she's already had to eat.

Its so fun giving them food, isnt it?
