Question about packing for Hospital

I know that i'll be in the hospital gown while i'm giviing birth, but the next day do i get to wear regular clothes? I'm just trying to figure out what to pack as far as cloths go. I think i'd rather be in lounge clothes as opposed to the hospital gown, but not sure if its even an option.

Re: Question about packing for Hospital

Yes. I was able to bathe (I had a vag. birth) that same day and change into regular jammies.

Re: Question about packing for Hospital

You can wear whatever you want. I brought a tank top and comfy pajama pants to wear the next day.

ITA. I had a vaginal birth and it was great to put on some cozy sweatpants that were MINE instead of the hospital gown. BTW, those sweatpants were discarded at the hospital as they were kinda messy by the end of the two-day stay...

Spinoff question???

If you are planning on trying to breastfeed, do you need to pack pajamas that unbutton vs. a t-shirt? Or something easy access for breastfeeding? I would prefer to wear a t-shirt and sweatpants but I was going to buy a pajama set that I can unbutton the top easily so when I BF and I have guests show up I can quickly get myself decent again.

TIA!

REALLY???? It's that bad? So I should go out and buy a nice pair of Victoria's Secret pajamas for the hospital, they'll just get ruined?

Re: Question about packing for Hospital

u can wear reg clothes if u feel up to it. but if u are just going to lounge around then I say take a nightgown. There was a lady where i was giving birth who was on her 3rd child and she was in her reg clothes the next day walking aroudn like nothing. she also left with her baby the next day as well. I was like wow i hope that can be me the next time around.

Its totally up to you I BF and wore t-shirt I just lifted it up but it might be easier to wear a button down and just have a burp cloth to cover yorself when visitors come unannounced

Re: Question about packing for Hospital

Do not go out and get yourselves sexy pjs and quite honestly, NOTHING that is light colored. Dress comfy and preferably in dark clothes. You are going to bleed ALOT! and I can almost guarantee that you will bleed through your pants. The bleeding is MORE than a heavy period.

Don't want to scare anyone at all. Just wanted to give you some heads-up. Chat Icon

as for ladies nursing, def bring some nursing bras and get yourselves either a button down or pack those nursing tanks and bring a robe.

Good luck!

I wasn't going for a sexy look, they were just cotton pajama pants and button down top. I haven't had anything sexy in quite a while, I forget what sexy is. Chat Icon I don't feel like spending money on a new pair of pajamas that I will just have to throw in the garbage before I leave the hospital either. So I should just bring a black pair of sweatpants that I have already, this way if they get ruined I will just toss them. I'm just not sure what to do about the top with the whole BF thing? Chat Icon If I wear a t-shirt with the black sweats, I won't have easy access. I did already buy some nursing bras. Maybe I should bring a zipper down sweatshirt top to wear with the sweats? I appreciate everyone's advice!!
