Question about furniture for baby #2...
When this baby is born, dd will be about 19-20 months. We bought her a convertible crib so she should grow with the furniture. I was thinking of getting the same for baby 2 since that furniture will also grow with dc. Does this make sense? Should I get a toddler bed for DD in the mean time and just use the crib until baby #2 is ready for a toddler bed? If I do get a second crib, what type of bedding do I buy for DD? Another crib set since she will use it when it's a toddler bed as well?

We have convertible cribs for both DC. They are about 3 years apart. When we bought DS's set, we knew that that was his set. When DD came, we got her her own set.
Toddler beds are basically cribs with one side gone, so you can still use the existing bedding in the toddler bed mode.

Originally we were going to get a 3-1 crib for DD#2. DD#1 has the convertable crib and since 3.5 is in a full size bed. After looking at sets this weekend we decided on getting another convertable crib for DD#2. Now today we are getting DD#1 all new furniture and DD#2 will get her original suite and convert the bed back to a crib.

I sold my crib when DD was 15 months. She never slept in it anyway. Now she has a toddler bed set up next to mine - and I love it. Toddler beds are so inexpensive also!

I did not buy another crib. We moved DS to a toddler bed and left the crib and the nursery in tack. The crib I have is convertible too, but I doubt I will ever use it that way. My DS has his own furniture now and I want my DD to have an antique white bedroom set when she is old enough.
