Question about Cooking Meat

We bought meat on Friday night that's been in the fridge since then, the sell by date is today. I feel pretty sick and do not feel like cooking tonight. Do you think it's good in the fridge until tomorrow, or do I really need to cook it tonight. If I have to, I will!

Thanks!

Honestly, if I am not going to use meat right away i freeze it. I dont know that I would keep it in the fridge for 4 days (esp if theres an exp date)but thats just me...I dont drink opened milk either so use your own discretion. Is it normal color still?

Re: Question about Cooking Meat

if it's been in your fridge, its FINE!

If you didn't buy it when you did, it would still be sitting in the fridge at the grocery store, right?

that's what I'm thinking - but I didn't know if it really goes bad after the sell by date or do you still have a day or two...

You still have a few days to use it after the sell by date. That is just the last day that the store can have it on the shelf.

Re: Question about Cooking Meat

Its only the sell by date. Its still good for days after.

The stores don't expect you to eat what you buy on the same day. Which is why the sell by date is usually determined days before the meat will ever go bad.
