You should be okay if you leave at 7:30.

I live in Ft Salonga and take the Sunken Meadow to the Northern to 106/107 exit and like to leave by 7:30 and make it to my office either a few mins before 8 or a few mins after.

But leaving a few mins later can sometimes just stick you in the middle of hell!! Chat Icon

And the thing is when I worked in East Meadow I could leave home at 7AM and get there in about 20 mins so I changed my hours to 7:30-4:30!!

I live in fort salonga as well and I used to take sunken meadow pkwy to the northern to port washington. Its hit or miss, sometimes you get on and its moving, other days its backed up. And I used to get on the same time everyday

I don't think it will take you longer then 45 mins. Watch the traffic channel if you can before you leave though. 1 fender bender on the northern makes traffic a disaster because there is just 1 lane to pass it. Especially when the people can't pull off into the shoulder. Then I would take the LIE and it would be a little backed up becuase I think everyone would do the same thing, but it was still better

Can you take Jericho there?

exactly!

i have to be in Farmingdale at 8:30 (from Smithtown) - if I don't leave by 7:50, I'm late. No clocking in for me though, so it's OK!

eta: when i have to go to an East Meadow meeting location (right by century 21), I take northern state to the meadowbrook and it takes about 45 minutes at 8am.

ITA! I commute from Exit 41 to Exit 28 and have to be at work at 8:30--- NO later (I am a teacher and the kids get there then).

I find if I leave no later than 7:45 AM, I am good. definitely fine by 7:30. I did find any earlier than 7:30, I hit MORE traffic, not sure why, but that's how it was. However, there are days where it's just bad. It's ALWAYS slow by 106/107 and often leading up to that exit. Sometimes I'll listen to the traffic on the radio and hop on the LIE at Exit 37 - Plainview.
