Q for BF moms...
DS had 1 week visit last week and had regained 3 of the 6 oz he lost after birth. However, our next dr.'s visit isn't until next week when he will be just over three weeks. Until then I am constantly worrying that he is not getting enough - is it ok that he is going this long without being weighed again? How do I know that he is ok, gaining and eating enough?

As long as he is making enough wet diapers and doesn't seem hungry all the time, I'm sure you're doing great... One week isn't that long to wait for another weigh in

Thank you. I know its not that long...its just I keep hearing how other peds see at 1 wk and 2 wks and it is making me nervous that ours is 1wk and 3 wks! I'm so tempted to order one of those baby scales...who would've thought i would get this nuts

I know at my PED, I could always just walk in and they would weigh DD if I wanted to... if you are really concerned, make a stop if it's not too inconvenient...
Don't buy a scale!!

we had to do weight check ins for the first 2 weeks. He barely ate and still gained. He was a big time sleeper.
I agree, as long as dirty/wet diapers are coming, baby is gaining.
I remember the 1 month appt being so far away...it will be here before you know it.

I had the same worries in the beginning. As long as there are the right amount of wet/poopy dipes, everything is fine.

As long as he is gaining he is fine. I used to worry so much about this as well. However, you can go next week to check his weight if you are concerned. Just go to your ped. Also Babies r Us sells one of those baby weighing machines that you can buy.

call your ped and ask for a weight check.... they should be able to do that before his next appt. good luck!
