Q about Play Yards (I think that is what they are called) something to enclose DC in a room...

I am looking for something to enclose an area in my living room for DS to play. I hate having to keep DS in his high chair or exersaucer when I am cleaning the kitchen and other areas downstairs but, he is just to quick now to leave alone in the living room with his toys on his mat...can you recc anything that i can enclose him in - like a round fence or something that is safe with a large play area? TIA Chat Icon

Did you use this indoors?

So it isn't that sturdy?

Thanks for responding!

I have only used indoors. Its very sturdy when its up yes. But my son can push HEAVY things ..it doesnt tip over or anything, he moves the whole thing all set up till he hits a wall or furniture.

play yards like that are great for enclosing infants, but, they outgrow them very quickly (and cost around $100). By a year old, they are sometimes too big to be in one of those. Have you considered gating off a room that is childproof so there is room for your DC to move around? We gave DD free reign of the living room and it worked out great. Now that she's almost two, she has access to the entire downstairs with a gate by the two sets of stairs. good luck!

I hear ya and I totally see how that would happen...but, right now, I don't think there is a way that i could totally baby proof a room down stairs - our living room connects to the diningroom which connects to the kitchen and hall but i can't see into the living room from the kitchen - we are in the process of buying new furniture (since we recently moved in) but, our current furniture in the room is not very baby friendly...

I was reading the reviews on BRU and people were saying they found it hard to get in and out of it? Do you find that? TIA!

Do you have a Pack and Play? My living room is basically totally babyproofed but sometimes if I am doing something for a long period of time - I will put Jack into his PNP. We have TONS of toys in there. I also put on the Backyardigans when I do this. The kid won't make a peep! Chat Icon

I have one, and, much to my dismay since it was $$$$$ my son has ALWAYS hated it. Right now it's sole use is as a toy box for all DS's toys Chat Icon
