Putting Stuff In Their Crib

My boys are 16 months and they still sleep with nothing in their cribs except themselves. I was wondering when you all started giving DC pillows, blankets and/or stuffed animals.

I usually put them in fleece PJs on the cold nights, but would like to offer them a blanket if need be.

Thanks

My DS is just about 22 months and he's had a bunch of stuff in his crib for a while now. He has a small blanket, his "woofie," 2 small pillows, and some stuffed animals. Even though he has a blanket he almost never sleeps under it unless I wait until he's asleep and then put it over him.

I did it around 12 months. I didn't even ask the doc until then. He said everything was fine. Everyone's doc is different but I think the norm is once they can sit, stand, etc.. its ok. Use your judgement and what makes you feel comfortable. I still get nervous.

I have been putting stuff in Maddie's crib for a few weeks now. She is only 6 1/2 months old, but she is so much happier with her stuffed animal "friends" in there with her!

I put DS's bumpers in around 6 months and gave him a blanky to sleep with at that time and a teddy bear he likes.

Noah sleeps with a Percy Train and a Thomas the Tank Engine book. He holds them both when he is sleeping and he plays with the train and reads (I say reads...)the book in the morning and has a play in his crib. He also has some stuffed character toys in his crib, but he doesn't touch them really.

We introduced a Comforter (duvet) type quilt blanket and now he loves it. When I wake him up in the morning he is all toasty warm curled up in his duvet. This morning it was pulled up over his head! Very cute!

Andrew is 19 months and has stuff in his crib for at least 5 months. He has stuffed animals, a pillow (sometimes in sometimes not) and a blanket.
