professional development days......
We have one coming up...... and honestly, while most teachers in my school consider it an easier day, I would rather be teaching a regular school day than sit at those meetings!
I find those staff development meetings so tediously BORING  gotta say...... Is it just me? Are there teachers out there who feel that there is much to be gained from these things?!?
I should add that we have weekly meetings with everyone on the grade and an AP ..... so we already constantly touch base. I am actually dreading that staff development day because I know it will drag  Sorry to be the downer here, but it's JUNE  and I am burn out!

Staff development days in my experience have always been a drag & a waste of time HOWEVER I am grateful for the break from teaching, the peace & quiet in the building, and the chance to hang out with other adults in the buidling & not be on bell schedule all day.... so I actually really enjoy them despite the dumb meetings!!!

ITA..I like hanging out with people from other departments, especially when we get to roll our eyes at yet another differentiated instruction workshop that doesn't actually teach us how to differentiate.

I agree! Staff development days are NEVER good days! Sorry..just think of it as ONE less day with the restless kiddies!

I didn't mind them on a HS level, but on the elementary level they are awful.
At least WSBOCES puts together something for my certification on election day - that's actually interesting
