Pregnant Snooki Reveals Sex of Her Baby—It's a...

Snooki has made no secret that she's been hoping her first baby is a girl.

Well, the Jersey Shore mommy-to-be has found out the sex of the little one.

Did her wish come true?

Snooki, 24, and fiancé Jionni LaValle, 25, are expecting a...boy!

But no worries, that doesn't mean she's not over the moon about the big news. "I thought it was going to be a girl," Snooki says in this week's issue of celeb tabloid In Touch. "I was hoping it would be, because all girls want girls."

Even so, she adds, "It's still my baby, no matter what. I'm excited either way!"

Snooki and LaValle announced in March that they were engaged to be married and expecting their first bambino. They're waiting until after their son is born to say their I do's.

She told me exclusively earlier this month that LaValle was hoping for a boy, but ultimately she was fine either way.

"As long as it's healthy," she said, "that's all that matters."

And the pregnancy has gone much better than she could have ever imagined. "I don't even feel pregnant really," she said. "I'm just tired but pretty much. It's like I'm just growing a stomach."

She also said they were choosing between "normal names, not like when celebrities name their kids. It's going to be a nice traditional Italian name." She told In Touch they're choosing between Lorenzo and Jionni Jr.

Snooki also admitted she didn't think she'd be pregnant at age 24. "I would say it would have been another two years, but whatever," she said. "It's all good. I'm so excited."

And so are we.

well despite my feelings for her as a person and that she's undeserving of all the attention/fame-I'm happy that the baby is coming into her life and hope he's healthy. Perhaps the baby will help change her life around and really ground her.

SMH...talk about the girl all you want but leave parenting and babies out of it. Shame on you. Just because a person behaves recklessly in their youth doesn't mean they are destined to be a bad example or bad parent. I really hate seeing these types of comments, it's so nasty.

This is a bit harsh, no?

It's the celebrity board. And c'mon..its snooki. I am not saying she will necessarily be a bad parent (babies change a lot of people and force them into responsibility) but lets face it..this is a girl who has lived in the MTV spotlight, drinking her face off, tanning, drinking some more, getting paid an obscene amount of money for simply acting trashy and no one can make a comment about her having a baby?

Re: Pregnant Snooki Reveals Sex of Her Baby—It's a...

I don't think I was harsh. I think that her comment was harsh...and low.

Children are off limits to me. It's just not something you speak about like that. If she were actually being a bad parent...then sure...talk about it, lord knows I would. but I think alot of the comments directed at her ability to parent are harsh, uncalled for, rude and if the people saying them were on the receiving end and the comments were being made in reference to their unborn child or their ability to parent I'd like to think they'd be pretty pissed off and defensive, so why is it ok to do to someone else just bc she's a celebrity.

People think I must love her bc I "defend her" but I don't...I think she's just as gross as the next person...but to talk about her ability to parent or bring her unborn child into it is absolutely disgusting and disrespectful IMHO.

I did my fair share of partying when I was younger and not married. If ANYBODY had made remarks about my unborn child or my ability to parent that unborn child, I would have punched then right in the face...and they would have deserved it. You just don't say things like that.

what she did while young & single is her business...and bc she's in the spotlight I fully expect people to judge her for that...BUT living a young and reckless life DOES NOT mean you will be a bad parent...and often times it can actually be the opposite.

I'm not sure if you are internalizing something (maybe from a past?) or if you really just love snooki or are related to her. You seem to take great umbrage anytime someone makes comments about snooki and her pregnancy.

The girl has put her life out there for the world to see and there is nothing to be proud of about it. Because of how she's portrayed herself, people are going to judge.

see above.

I don't know how I can make it any more clear that I couldn't care less about snookie herself. I just think the comments re: her unborn child are LOW and disgusting. I feel like I'm in the twilight zone that people (especially mothers) don't understand why I would think Children are off limits when it comes to those kinds of comments. How would you feel if I told you I thought you were a horrible mother because of your past?? (which should have nothing to do with your ability to be a good parent)

People will make judgments about her future behavior based on her past. Whether we like it or not, that is what happens and it especially happens when you are in the spotlight.

People could use my past against me and say I wasn't going to make a good mother, and that's their opinion. Doesn't mean it would make a difference to me because I know who I am.

Just like you sit there saying you can't make it any clearer about the whole "off limits" thing, others will say "how can you not at least make SOME connection to the fact that she was an alcoholic trashy trainwreck and now she is going to have a baby?"

Essentially you're saying that once you get pregnant, anything you did before is irrelevant and makes no difference. I must respectfully disagree with this because many times past behavior IS an indication of future behavior. Is it ALWAYS? Absolutely not. But can it be? Sure. She was in the middle of her alcoholic haze and has proven to not be very mature at all when she got pregnant. So of course it is hard for people to look at her and say "Snooki is going to be such a GREAT MOM, I mean just because she's preggo means NOTHING she did before means anything at all."

If someone I know was practically an alcoholic trainwreck and I heard they got pregnant, you bet I would judge because I'm human. I would HOPE that they truly get their act together but I would probably worry about the kind of parent they are going to be later on.

Snookie is making money off her pregnancy. She is at the shore house she is talking to magazines... she is putting it out there. If she can make $$$ off an un-born child then I think we can talk about her.

It's all coming from a place of good. Not malice.

Re: Pregnant Snooki Reveals Sex of Her Baby—It's a...

see...I think it's NORMAL to say "yikes, hope this will be a turning point" or "oh maybe she'll get her stuff together" That was actually my reaction to hearing she was pregnant. I thought "well, god bless...maybe this will be a turning point" that was my honest reaction. I am by NO MEANS saying oh she'll be a GREAT mom...although...who knows? stranger things have happened. But to say she would do emotional damage to her unborn child...you guys don't think thats harsh? you wouldn't be pissed if someone said that about you? true or not...I think if you say it wouldn't bother you I call BS. It's such an awful thing to say.

We don't see eye to eye bc I really do believe your past does not dictate your future. What a sad world it would be if that were true. many of our parents grew up between the hippie days and the disco days...I'm sure they could tell some CRAZY stories...but when it comes to being a parent...life changes as you know it. Life is no longer about you anymore. So no, I wouldn't judge someone's ability to parent based on their past. I just wouldn't...I'm not saying don't judge her...she absolutely put herself out there. In my mind, she's a dirty girl...but I would not even go there to judge her parenting. It's a separate thing to me.

ETA: now, once she has this baby...if she's getting trashed, doing lines of coke or forgetting the baby on a curb somewhere...then for sure...you better believe I'll have an opinion about her parenting

Maybe this is a glass is half full/half empty thing. I admit that I'm a bit of a pessimist by nature at things and cynical at times. Perhaps it's because while I agree that becoming a mom does change everything, it does not change everything for everyone.

I know PLENTY and I mean PLENTY of people who having children made no difference in their life choices. I've seen crackheads and alcoholics continue their downward spiral after the babies come and not only does the first one suffer, but they keep making more babies.

So when I see someone like her, I hope she changes her act, I really do. But the cynic in me doesn't necessarily think it's a guaranteed thing.

I think you are taking these comments too seriously. When I read this, I laughed, because I'm fairly sure it was a joke. But even if she wasn't joking, I don't see the comment being "so nasty". Some people on this site like to bash celebrities and some people on the site like to bash fellow posters.

Snooki signed a contract to be at the Shore House this summer during the last trimester of her pregnancy. She agreed to this while pregnant. There is no way is hell MTV is going to not allow all the drama that goes on in that house. How is this responsible? It's not.

I was saying it in jest but there is def some truth to the statement. Alot of what a parent does/says will affect their children. I know so many women who have developed serious emotional issues all becuase of their mothers. I do believe women are affected more by their mothers doings then men are. So I was happy to hear she was having a boy, and hope her BF plays more of a role in his upbrining. If she continues on with life as usual- she will most likely do some damage to her child unless someone else is the primary parent. And from what we've read, it doesn't appear that she putting a stop to anything anytime soon (i.e. shore in her 3rd trimester). Now that's disgusting!

agreed. where do you think the phrase "the apple doesn't fall far from the tree" came from? In MOST cases, children are products of their environment. I pray she relaxes with her lifestyle and the parental factor kicks in once this kid comes.
