Prank Calls - Who Made Em when they were younger and what did you say?

They were joking on the radio today the art of prank calls is now dead because of Caller ID! I KNOW that me and my idiot friends were not the only ones who did this!!

Did you make prank calls and what were your best ones?

I'll start - when I was in Middle School (perfect obnoxious prank calling age) my dad got a second phone line in the house for business. So - we now had two line phones with the conference button to connect them

We used to call one person on one line, quickly call the other one on the 2nd line - and conference them together. We only did this with people who knew each other. So, now you had two people at the beginning of a conversation, saying hello, and then there's the awkard silence while they are both waiting for the other to start the convo and tell the other why they called - because both of them got called by each other!!
We would listen in and it was hysterical.
We would call two people who were friends (so we could hear what they talked about), we would connect people who were enemies, we would connect an ex-girlfriend with her ex-boyfriend...

These were a riot!!! You can see how proud I still am of these!!

OK - who's next?

We used to look up people with the last name Lipshitz and say "If your Lip S&#ts, My A$S Whistles!" and hang up.

Oh, we TOTALLY used to make them. We'd take the phone into the bathroom, call someone, wait for them to answer, pour water in the toilet, then flush and say, "AHHHH", then I'd do my best granny impression and just keep saying, "Hello? Hello? Eddie? Is that you?" Or whatever name it was of the person we called. SO freaking stupid. I think I was like 12.

OMG!!! I kept a prank on our second line answering machine that we got about a year or so ago ... it's a young boy asking if we're ready for our MONSTER to be delivered and there's a little girl giggling in the background. Then all of the sudden he's like "Umm ... okay, bye!"

It's the cutest thing!!! I listen to it every once in a while for a chuckle!!!!


And I soooo cannot remember what we used to say when we pranked but I know we did!!

OMG my sister used to call a Chinese restaurant pretending to be the owner of an Indian restaurant on the same block. She used to complain that they were taking away her customers, etc. It was sooo funny - we might even have some on tape.

Yes!! I actually did it one night in college with my roommate. It was pretty funny thinking back on it.

I just remembered something we did in college It was sooo funny. I lived in a big house with a bunch of friends - girls in the upstairs apt, guys downstairs. The guys had a female Doberman named Collette...

One day, we were calling up all these guys we knew who we didn't like for some reason or other - hooked up and left a friend, ex-crush, etc.

We only called guys who we had seen out at the bar the previous night so we could describe what they were wearing.

We would speak to the guy, tell them how much fun we had hanging out with them in the bar the night before, and thanks for giving the number! We would tell them that my (our) name was Collette.
The guy's would be like - huh?? I didn't meet anyone last night. So, then we would tell them what they had been wearing, and what they'd been doing - so now they'd be totally confused, because they knew we were correct in seeing them.
So finally we gave back our downstairs housemate's phone number to all these guys. Wouldn't you know - all these guys start calling up our guy roommates - asking to speak to Collette (who was the dog)

OK - kind of silly - but hysterical when you're 21.

We used to call the Schwartz's in the phone book and say "May the Schwartz be with you"

We used to prank when we were younger. I'm not sure if it counts (more practical jokes than calls) but the only standouts were right after college when my roommate had me call her co-worker. My job was to convince him that he one a brand new corvette. He didn't believe me. I explained that I understand completely, I get it all of the time. I had him call my phone number back to confirm it was real. I had a co-worker answer the phone with the name of the event company handling prize distribution. We went through all of the details of tax, pickup, etc. She called me back hysterical laughing - and I could hear him screaming in the background. She finally told him after he called his sister & was trying to get his mom on the phone.
