Pool Float, crazy holiday gift?
My Cousin just moved into a house with a nice pool this fall. I am never sure what to get her kids for Christmas since I never know what they already have, would it be strange to get them each a cool pool toy? ( kindergarten , 2nd grade, infant)

I've bought things for my nieces and nephews that were summer toys or clothes for christmas I see nothing wrong with it.

I got a surfboard for christmas one year! :D I think its totally fine. They will get stuff they can use right away, forget about your gift and then summer will come and it will be like another gift when they remember about it!

I agree, I think the kids get overloaded with stuff to use now. Its very thoughtful to give them something that relates to their new home, plus its unique!

My sister always does this for my DS, bathing suit, etc for Christmas

I got a boogie board for Christmas one year. My parents said it was extremely hard to find in December, but I got it.

I'm the odd man out, I don't like it for a Christmas gift since it will be months and months before it can get used. I do stuff like that in Easter baskets.

For the kinder garden and 2nd grade, they would be more excited about a toy they can play with now, rather than waiting for summer to use it.

It's a delightful gift. Go for it! My daughter had us blow her's up right away and she used it indoors all winter to lounge on. It also made an awesome thing to slide down a hillside once it snowed.
