Poll: What type of gift card would you prefer to receive?

I am trying to figure out what to get for a preschool teacher and 2 assistants.

You made this so hard for me to choose. You know how much I love coffee and Panera But for I teacher, I think the coffee is a good choice.

I must be easy, because I would use any of them.

The one thing to consider is that you can probably get the other 3 cards free of charge, but you might have to pay a fee for the Amex one.

I always find when I have an Amex card, I never use it thinking I'll find something better to spend it on...KWIM?

Yet the second there is a Starbucks gift cert in my wallet, I'm pulling in to the parking lot!

Visa gift card - accepted at more locations than AmEx

I hate coffee and I always get starbucks gift cards from my students. I always say get either am ex or a store that has a lot of things like target or things like that!

Is there a Panera near the school? If so, I'd say that.

I hate that you have to pay fees to buy an AmEx gift card, makes me so mad, so I rarely buy them.

We are getting a Costco gift card for the main teacher as that is her favorite store . For the assistants, we are getting them AMEX gift cards.
Maybe ask a former student or other teachers if any of them have a preference or favorite store. It is more personal that way

just an fyi...

you have to pay a fee for the amex card. and if the person doesnt use it right way they take like 2.50 a month till its used.

BUT
youbuy a $20 amex card and itll cost you $25. maybe go with a simon mall giftcard.... no extra charges and can be used in any store cause its like a visa/mc.

Visa or Amex GC.

I don't like coffee so it would be somehow a waste for me to get a starbucks GC (although they do have hot chocolate, pastries). But I go so rarely. I love Panera but not everyone likes it.

Amex all the way - I know many people if they got one would use it but if they got one to some of the others probably wouldn't use it. A lot of people don't eat at panera, although starbucks is nice if you drink coffee.

Amex is good only b.c it can be used anywhere. There was some miss info given above though. You are only charged a $2 a month fee on the card IF you don't use it within 12 months - I think most people will use it within 1 year so I don't think that is much of an issue. If you have an amex card - you used to be able to get them fee free at an amex store. But the fee is usually only $3. I get them all the time - and give them all the time. The nice part is that the person isn't limited to what they can buy -or use it for - dinners, shopping, gifts, spas, etc.

Also I have never had problems using them with low balances - some cashiers don't know what to do with them but they have the same issue with their own gift cards. You just pay the difference in cash or credit if what you buy is more than what is left. I have never had one declined and I get about 5-10 a year from family.

I say AMEX since some people either dont like coffee or dont live near a Borders
