Poll of the Week! 5/14/12 - Spring Decluttering
I know that I'M feeling the Spring Cleaning bug, but I'm wondering about everyone else! Cleaning is one thing, but how do you get rid of everything extra?!

generally, with my clothes, i will call a local church who picks up donations. They also accept shoes and other household things, so as long as everything is gently used, i know someone else may be able to enjoy it for a longer amount of time than i am.

For the most part - I just chuck things into the garbage.
I toss my old clothes. shoes, bags into the big donation bins in my shopping center.

It depends what it is, but I try & consolidate into Goodwill, special recycling (some stuff like battereis & medicine etc, has to be brought to the county where I am), or trash. Occassionaly there is a pass on to family memebrs pile, but I don't want to clutter their lives either.
I don't like charity pick ups b/c then I have to keep the stuff aorund until they come. GOod will is nerby & open on Sundays.

ILs work at their church Thrift Store, so it's easy to give stuff to them for the church.

We just had a big garage sale-we ended up only selling about 1/3 of our stuff, but we made a lil over 300 bucks
the rest we donated
