Pokey had blood in his pee today
we were at the Vet at 10am
his x-ray is clear so that's good
they gave him another anti-botic- a shot
I am freaking out now- he just did it again- which the vet said not to worry about - but it's hard not too
he is bird watching now- not acting funny at all
I am staying home today- all day and watching him

sounds like he might have a UTI. I'm glad you caught it quickly...my cat had had one for awhile, and we didn't notice it until we heard him crying while using the litterbox.

he had a UTI- but the medicine he was on wasn't strong enough
so I guess it got or worse or came back
he got an injection this time
poor guy - he keeps going to the litter box

ok- he has been in the litter box every 10 minutes
I feel so bad- I called the vet- they said it's normal
he feels like he has to go
but he can't even enjoy the birds that are eating on the patio
he got excited to see them
then off to the box

Awwww poor thing...I hope the stronger medicine works for him. I once had a really bad UTI and it's true...you're in the bathroom every 5 minutes and can't go. But I hope he starts to feel better in the next day or so...

thanks! I hope he feels better soon
no more blood- just back and forth
I am just glad I caught this before 12pm today and I got him to the vet
b/c they are closed till tuesday now

Aww I hope he feels better and the new medicine works for him.   Then he can enjoy his bird friends better without the have to go feeling.

things seem to be better
I keep checking the litter box- I haven't seen blood since this morning
he is sleeping under the table
he is so cute! I need him to get well

Do you think it could be bladder stones?
My dog had blood in her urine when she had bladder stones. She also kept making little pee spots all over the house which she had never done before. And it looked like she was straining to pee.

the vet mentioned that but
the x-ray was clear
so we are unsure what it is - he did have ecoli in his urinary tract and he fights like hell and was spitting up the medicine he was on
we are watching him closely now
if it continues- then he is getting an ultra-sound
no pee spots around the house this time- but 2 weeks ago he was doing that and I took him to the vet then -

Oh, okay - I thought I remembered you writing something about pee spots!
Our dog had an ultrasound and that is how they found the bladder stones.
We actually found out recently that the bladder stones were caused by some sort of urinary infection. Basically our dog has crystals in her urine. They are fairly harmless unless she gets a urinary infection, in which case they can cause bladder stones. Luckily, with the type of stones they were, they were treatable through dietary changes and did not require surgery.
Best of luck with your little one! I know how it feels when your dog is going through something and you just want it all to be better
