We were really ticked at the service we received from the company and the attitude we got on the phone. I wrote them a letter saying why I was dissatisfied, and they cashed my check without another word. Yesterday, I get another bill in the mail from them when they cashed my check sometime ago. These people can not get their act together! Avoid this extremely disorganized inspector. Below is the letter I wrote and sent in with my payment.

To Whom It May Concern at AVP Exterminators, West Babylon:

This letter is regarding the poor service we received concerning the termite inspection of XXXXXX in Deer Park for a pending home purchase. Our first problem was the poor customer service we received from the staff in your office. I was told your office would get in touch my realtor to set up an appointment with the current home owners for 9/1/05. We called your office repeatedly to see if an appointment was made because my husband wanted to be there to speak to the inspector about signs we had seen of previous damage during the engineer?s inspection. We were told during these calls no appointment had been made. We then call the realtor to discuss why she had not made an appointment yet, and she said she had indeed called and did have an appointment. When we called your office back to confirm, you replied we did not have an appointment, but you?d try to squeeze us in. Later you made an appointment with my realtor, and then called me to inform me of the appointment time, and it was different from that given to my realtor.
Finally, the time comes for the inspection. Your office had promised to call my husband when the inspector was on his way so that he could meet him at the house, since he only works ten minutes away. Instead, I received a phone call stating that the inspector was ten minutes from the house. I immediately called my husband who left work that minute and was at the house in ten to fifteen minutes. The inspector was already gone. Now, in the few minutes the inspector was there, he apparently did not make a full inspection of the house, because Section II Inspection Findings (circled in red on the attached copy) in his report is empty. This is the exact section we had wanted documented since we had seen visible evidence of past termite damage and treatment in the garage. No mention was made of this whatsoever in the report, and my husband took off from work for nothing. We understand that termite inspection is often a difficult task since most areas of the home are inaccessible to where the termites would live. But we feel this inspection was very poorly done considering the section of the garage that had damage had the sheet rock removed from the wall, exposing the area, and was free from clutter. How can we be assured the rest of the house was properly inspected?
We are very disappointed the service we received. You were a referral from our engineer who did an excellent job, so we expected nothing less from a referral of his. We will not be recommending your company to anyone in the future.

Sincerely,
Nicole
