Please recommend your pediatrician ... preferrably in the north shore Nassau area of Syosset, Woodbury, etc...
Sorry so long, I'm frustrated.. 
So we signed up for a new health insurance plan. Luckily, all our current doctors, my OB, etc. are in the plan. We knew going into this plan that the kids pedi practice was NOT. But we had a recommendation for a new pedi and we listed him as the kids pedi (he was in the new plan and was accepting new patients). We had been looking for a pedi closer to home for some time, and this was the perfect opportunity.
So I get my new health insurance cards today and I call the new pedi to get the ball rolling on changing the doctors. And I'm told he's NOT accepting new patients (I was told that in a few months he may open up to the insurance companies to accept new patients again, but I can't wait months).
I'm both  and .
I like my old practice, but they aren't in the new plan and getting to Mineola was not as easy as I would like. I did a search of the pedi's in the plan and there are soooo many, so I can't just choose blindly...
Please let me know who you use, the docs name and where they are located (so I can see if they are in our new plan). I live up in the Oyster Bay area and am looking to stay close, so I'd be willing to do Syosset, Woodbury, Jericho, etc.

Well Mary Katherine ( ), I would recommend mine but he is in East Meadow. Is that too far for you? You could take Northern State to Wantagh Pkwy to Hempstead Tpke and he's not far off Hempstead Tpke. Wish I knew of someone closer for you!

Thanks Kara... In the scheme of things, East Meadow is not far, given my closeness to the SOB, Wantagh, NS, LIE, etc. but neither was Mineola, so I'm hoping to stay real close, real local. Thanks though!
Glad you liked my new name  Somedays I look and feel just like her!

I like mine a lot... Dr. Ilyse Nayor of Pediatric Associates in Plainview (400 S. Oyster Bay Rd, 822-1400).
There are 3 docs in the practice, I like her the best and then Dr. Rabinowitz.

I really like our practice in Plainview. It's Pediatric Health Associates. They have like 6 doctors and my favorite is Dr. Samuel. Over the last 2 years I have met all of them and have been happy. I never have a problem bringing DD in the same day and the waits are not bad at all. They also have extended hours some nights.
They are on Manetto Hill Road not too far from Fairway.

Dr. Greg Gullbranson from Oyster Bay Pediatrics is the BEST..WE love him!! His number is 516-922-3131. He's right down 106 right next to Dodds & Eder.

We switched here earlier this year and I really like them. I emailed them last week about a non-emergency issue and I said that I would be willing to wait a few days for a call back and a doctor called me back less than an hour later.

Grrr...... I am calling again, or at least making my DH call!
BTW, so far, the other recs are not in my insurance plan.

I also use Dr Nayor's practice. My dd is 9 and we have been with them since she is born. I love Dr Nayor and Dr Kaden, Dr Rabinowitz is my least fave, but that may be since he joined the practice later.

If we lived closer to Oyster bay I would have used Greg. I used to be a student a long long time ago of his wife's at Buckley Country Day school. In a heart beat I would have gone to him.

Just wanted to thank everyone for their recs! I had posted earlier that I didn't think Pediatric Health Associates was in my plan because I searched by doc's names, but when I did a general search for all pediatrics within 10 miles, they came up (6 miles from my house, I work right there in Woodbury). I called and the lady was so nice, so I am going to talk to DH over the weekend and see if we want to pursue Dr. Greg (after the lady today told me he wasn't accepting new patients) or go with PHA.
I really appreciate all the input!

For the longest time I did not go to PHA because I thought they were not in my plan. But when I called recently my insurance they told me they were. I just did not show on the insurance website.
