Please recommend an Italian restaurant in NYC
this is for an irish couple who are coming over to visit in a few weeks.
I don't really know of any ones to recommend in Manhattan.

If you go to Little Italy, you can try S.P.Q.R. Sal Anthony's on Mulberry Street. We are having a surprise party for my dad there this weekend, and the food is wonderful!

On the small side so you will need a reservation, but in my opinion one of the BESt restaurant for italian in manhattan

Also in little italy is IL Cortile. One of my all time favorites.

Becco on 46th... or maybe it's 48th... it's Restuarant Row between 8thand 9th. TRUE authentic northern Italian cuisine. It's one of Lidia Bastianich's restaurants. this IRish girl LOVES that place...
Also, Mario Batali has one... i'm forgetting the name... it's Bobbo or something like that.... also AMAZING.

there are SOOOO many great italian restaurants...but for special occasions I love Scalinatella -
201 E 61st St -between 2nd Avenue and 3rd Avenue...
the food is outrageous.....
also Accapella
1 Hudson St.
