Please recommend a roomy SUV (or *gasp* minivan)

DH and I are looking to lease a new car or buy something certified pre-owned. We are replacing a 2007 Jeep Compass lease and would like to be under $450 for our monthly payment.

We are completely in love with the 2010 Honda Pilot (base model with 4WD), but want to make sure that we have looked at all the available options.

DH is 6'3 and needs something on the "larger" side. He's not crazy about the crossovers but I think I might be able to convince him if the price is right.

We only have one DD (7mos) and may TTC sometime late 2010-early 2011.

DH isn't against driving a minivan but IDK if we're too young (I'll be 27 this year and DH will be 29).

What do you recommend?

honestly, try them all out and see what works for you. we just got a 2010 odyssey 4 months ago and love it. we're 32. it is so roomy and accommodates our life so well. we can fit the grandparents in the car with us and all go out together. no stroller is a problem and we can configure it any way we want in the back. it drives so nicely too. with DD2 on the way i am very happy with our decision. i love being able to climb inside and shut the doors to load DD into her seat when it rains. ETA: you can always rent something for a few days to see.

What about sticking with Jeep and going with the Jeep Grand Cherokee? We had one before we got our Jeep Liberty and I loved it. It was really roomy.

If you're looking for 3 rows and don't want a minivan look into the GMC Acadia... my dad has it and raves about it.

I have the 2010 Honda Pilot and I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!

Looking at the pilot online I wanted NOTHING to do wtih it. I wanted a pathfinder. On the way to purchase a Pathfinder we were passing a Honda (i had a honda accord that I loved) and DH needed to stop and see it....I am SO GLAD I stopped to look at the pilot bc I love it!

just something to think about...if you think you will have 2 carseats in the second row of an SUV then the third row may be pretty much unusable and the trunk will be tiny with the third row up. that happened to us when my cousin came to visit. just consider that as possibly happening when you look at 3rd row SUVs. not sure if that happens with all of them though. my cousin had either a Pilot or a Highlander (does that have the 3rd row)...if forget which brand now.

The pilot has a third row. We had the third row down when we went to dinner with friends. The trunk I fit my stroller but it was up on its side. I had my portable child chair....a duffel bag and a diaper bag. It was prettygood...

ETA: the bags were stacked ontop of eachother
