Please give me tips on how to get DD to nap in her crib or PNP!

My DD is 3 months old and from day one, besides on me when she was really little, she has ONLY napped in her swing. I am going back to work when she is 6 months old, and I really need her to be able to nap in her crib or her pack n play. I have been trying, and it isn't working.

I have been putting her down in the crib when I first see signs that she is drowsy. I tried the mobile on, the mobile off, pacifier in, pacifier out, shushing, staying within her view, leaving the room, etc. But in the end she will only lay there for a few minutes and it will end with her hysterical. I have tried picking her up when she is crying and then putting her back in to start again, but it doesn't work! After I keep trying 20 minutes or so go by and then she is so overtired and I have to give up and put her in the swing, and then she is out in a second.

I need any tips anyone has. I need to accomplish this so I can can move onto the next issue which is breastfeeding to sleep at night! Chat Icon

dd is 2 1/2 months and does most of her naps in the swing...
I use a pillow on my lap and when she falls asleep I move her and the pillow to the pnp..she'll nap for a while like that but on top of the pillow which is not ideal but it works

I am going through the same thing right now - DS will only nap in the swing or on ME - I'm going to try the pillow trick.
