Plantar Fasciitis

Have you ever had this and, if so, PLEASE tell me anything you did or took to make it feel better. I cannot believe the pain I am in right now. Any help or suggestions are very much appreciated!

That's heel spurs, right? I went to my podiatrist and was fitted for orthodics. They work wonders.

The best thing to do is go to a doctor. The pain is usually worse when you wake up in the morning and you take your first steps, so many doctors prescribe a night splint for you to wear with stretches the fascia while you sleep. Most also prescribe PT, which helps a lot too@ Plantar fasciitis usually gets better if you take anti-inflammatories. Stretching will also help a lot! Just do a good achilles stretch and also, while you're sitting, stretch your toes up, that will stretch the fascia very well. Another good thing to do is to freeze a golf ball and than roll it under your foot. It is a good ice massage! HTH - FM me if you have any questions@ Chat Icon

Re: Plantar Fasciitis

when DH was in Egypt with the ARMY he was running like a mad man and developed this. When he came home he stopped running and really took it easy. He has shoe inserts and night splints he wheres to bed during running season. he streatches a lot and when he wakes up he streatches and rubs his feet before he gets out of bed. The only real way to help this is to relax from running or walking and take it easy. Good luck oh and try going to a nice running store. We have a store called RUNNERS and when Joe starts running in the spring he goes there for shoes, inserts, and splints. These guys have been more helpful then any doctor we've gone too. GODD LUCK!!!Chat Icon
