PI$$ED OFF at co-workers comment
i went to my office yesterday and officially resigned. many were happy for me and wished me the best, but i got this one lady who continue to tell me that it was a stupid decision, and that I will become stupid because i won't learn anything, she also said that my education is a waste now and that she did it all. her kids were in daycare at 3 months and they turned out fine that why i can't do the same. my response was good for you, i have a choice to stay at home and i am going to take it !!! vent over. sorry.

Wow, how dare she! There are many people out there that would love to stay home with there kids and can't. You have the opportunity and you're taking it. I personally LOVE staying home with my children. You're not wasting your education at all...there will still be opportunities for you to work again later on when your children are in school (if you want to).

Wow- some people have nerves!!!! Why do people feel the right to judge/comment on other peoles lives? Is she jealous- that you have the opportunity to stay home with your child?

i was gonna say, a lot of times people say these things out of jealousy. they need to justify their own actions and wind up being mean to others. i don't bother getting angry, i just feel sorry for them...
I agree. Pity her. Having no sense of tact or happiness for anyone probably makes her children flee from her. I can only imagine what her DIL would think.

thanks for your support !! one of the atty's was walking by when this person was giving me her little lecture and she told her to hell with my ivy league degrees, if i have a baby and i want to stay home, i am going to stay home, they aren't going to revoke my education.
i don't know why she said all these things, i can't see it as jealousy, i mean it will be a major adjustment and a lot of scarafices but i am willing to make them.

OMG how rude! I would cut my right arm off to be able to stay home with my kids. she has a lot of nerve. I bet her kds aren't as great as she says they are! She's crazy and sometimes the apple doesn't fall far from the tree.

Education is never wasted! An educated intelligent woman will give that piece of knowledge to her children, so it is definitely never wasted!
Perhaps the woman was jealous. A lot of moms would love to stay home with their kids but can't, me being one of them.

She is just jealous and probably her kids didn't come out so great. And she wishes she could do it over. I love being home with my son and I wouldn't ever feel my education was a waste. I am just glad I had a choice some people don't. So good for you. Next time tell her I am sorry that you feel you mad the wrong choice.

She sounds like an angry woman...lot of good her "education" did for her personality
Being a SAHM is a wonderful job. I love it, I wouldn't have it any other way. There are ways to keep yourself educated and to stay sane...and eventually being a SAHM can end when they get to school age anyway, so there is more opportunity to go back to work/school etc...that is what i'm doing and very very happy with my decision. I never take it for granted because i have friends that would kill to stay home with their babies and can't. I'm happy for you, it'll be great!
