Photoshop photo editing question...

Is there a "blur" tool or quick and easy way to blur out a background of mostly greenery (ivy leaves on a fence) to give the illusion that one has a nice 50mm lens? Chat Icon

Looking to learn, not for someone to do it for me. Chat Icon

Thank you! Chat Icon

Oh and what's your best way to convert to black and white?

Re: Photoshop photo editing question...

Yes. It's pretty easy.

Create a new layer of your photo (Hit Control + J)

Then you want to go under the "Filter" menu and select "Blur" and then "Gaussian Blur". You can adjust the amount of blur once it's been applied. This will blur the entire photo.

Then you want to take the eraser tool and erase over the parts of the photo that you don't want the blur applied to (anything in the foreground).

Flatten and there you have it!
