I hope that this does not get moved......

We have a 1 year old dog Siberian Husky and an 8 year old Himalayan Cat....two pets that have a ton of hair!!!

What do you do about the shedding? This year seems really bad. I have the furminator, rakes, brushes,a Dyson Animal vacuum and NOTHING is working. I brush both daily and we vacuum both animals and we still have a ton of hair. Any suggestions?

I was going to suggest the Furminator brush -- I always get a ton of hair off my lab/pit mix, so I can only imagine the amount that comes off a Husky! When I take him to get groomed, I sometimes pay extra for a de-shedding treatment. Not sure what it entails but I think special shampoo that loosens the hair follicles that are about to fall out on their own and extra brushing. My groomer took a picture last time she did the treatment of all the hair in the tub drain that came off him and it was enough to create a small dog -- I was shocked!

It is spring, the time all critters shed, even indoor pets.

Re: Pet Shedding

Wash them with de shedding shampoo. It helps loosen all the hair and when you dry them, it all flys off. Everything else you are doing (brushing daily, furminator) is really all you can do.

for my rottie , I use de shredding shampoo and I shave her down short in the warmer months. It definitely helps with the hair.
